Good job Si! I didn't realize you were such a trivia extraodanaire...however you spell that as the spell checker has no idea and I'm looking in the dictionary and it's not there...so is it a word?

And a slap on the back to Jason. Though I don't know him I'm sure one day I will be shopping at the Union Square Farmer's Market when lo-and-behold! The crowd will part, the clouds will open, the sun shall beam, and angels shall be induced to hum...there will be Jason of my Blog!!
So onto more important things: last night's bookstudy. As we know it dealt with Jesus' display of justice in comparison to the way the religious leaders of his day dealt with the people. The Sabbath celebration and the subsequent restrictions that the Pharisees declared for that day was also touched on. I did research on the 39 restrictions and they are as follows:

Sowing, Plowing, Reaping, Binding Sheaves, Threshing, Winnowing, Selecting, Grinding, Sifting, Kneading, Baking, Shearing wool, Washing Wool, Beating Wool, Dyeing wool, Spinning,Weaving, Making two loops, weaving two threads, Seperating two threads, tying, untying, sewing two stiches, tearing, trapping, slaughtering, flaying, salting meat, curing hide, scraping hide, cutting hide up, writing two letters, erasing two letters, building, tearing a building down, extinguishing a fire, kindling a fire, hitting with a hammer, and taking an object from the private domain to the public, or transporting an object in the public domain.

Can we say straining the gnat? I went onto read in my research that even coming into contact with any implement that could be used for one of the above purposes was prohibited. So that would mean you couldn't touch a hammer or a pencil.

Now wouldn't you say that on the Sabbath day, a day of worship and spiritual reflection, an excellent way to spend that time would be in making a copy of Jehovah's Law? Of course! But under these burdensome rules, one couldn't even do that, let alone get close to a stylus!!
Jehovah's Laws are perfect, and in no need of additions.

So that is the thought for the day. This was a good study so leave your comments and I'll leave you with a little game: Rainmaker
