/ Concerts / Music – Aslan at Vicar Street in April – they were amazing, as expected, one of the best concerts I’ve been to. Picturehouse in concert too. Oh, and the Guinness Jazz Festival in Cork in October. Listening to Jack Johnson, Keane, The Killers, John Mayer (of course!), Snow Patrol……
/ Oh, one of THE highlights of 2006 for oh so many reasons – Trip to Frankfurt, Germany for the Special Convention in July. So, I got to attend the International Convention, to visit Bethel at Selters, to see the Rhein River, Guttenburg Museum with 120 delegates from Ireland – my old and new friends! This was my second time to attend an international convention, and I would encourage everyone to try and go, at least once! It’s an experience you will never forget, a great source of encouragement, and a taste of the wonderful blessings in store for the future, as part of Jehovah’s worldwide association of brothers.
/ Holidays/Vacations:
I spent three days in Venice at the beginning of December – wahey for cheap flights from Ryanair - €25 return flights – an opportunity not to be passed! A great trip spent with good friends, good food (real pizza), Italian coffee, endless bridges, traffic free streets, ‘over-friendly’ pigeons in St. Marks Square………
Lanzarote with my parents for one week in May – a nice break, but not sure from what! My ipod and several novels became my best friends during that week, as all the reasons why I moved out of home came flooding back! No, that’s a little harsh, it was nice to spend some time with Mum and Dad……’some time’. Let’s just say, it was a long week.
/ Oh, and my major planned trip to Africa for February 2007, which Hannah and I only booked in November. We’re going on Safari to Tanzania – we’ll visit the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara. We’ll also visit Nairobi for three days, and stay at Bethel. Needless to say, we’re SOOOO EXCITED, so stay tuned for photos and reviews Nina!
/ North and South Tallaght congregations combined in August to form one ‘Super’ Tallaght congregation with over 90 publishers – a very positive move, for which we’ve never looked back!
/ Went to my first ‘big match’ at Croke Park in August! Guinness Hurling Championship Semi final – Cork vs. Waterford. What a fast paced, violent sport – but so much fun!!!
/ November & December………very special months for one particular reason! Being with Simon!
/ Simon and I at Blessington Lakes, Dunlaoighre, The Giant’s Causeway, White Rocks Beach, Belfast……………..
/ October – Losing my job then having to do temp. office work (ugh!), not sure if that’s classed as a highlight, but certainly an event. So now I’ve just started a new part-time job in the Admissions Dept. of a children’s hospital, which I love! Slight drawback of starting at 7.30am but I’m finished at 11.30am, five mornings a weeks, good pay! Yet again Jehovah provides, when we put him first.
/My new camera: a Nikon D50 – has to be mentioned on this list. A whopper gift from my brother Glen, so I best learn how to use it properly asap - none of the automatic (point & shoot) settings for me!! Just first let me recover from brain overload, after reading the manual!
