2006 was a pretty interesting year. For the loved ones around me it seemed either a very very good year or a very very bad year. But for me, it was gaged in between. The year started out super-slow and then once the summer came the second half seemed to be taking place in double speed. But still ended up being exciting, fun filled, and with lots of change.
in chronological order:
1> Had my 2nd year Anniversary of Pioneering in Feb 2006.
2> The spring semester of school was perhaps one of the worst of my life. It left me sick, stressed, and knowing I couldn't handle this again. So my number two is giving up my scholarship to take a lighter course load so I could focus more on Jehovah's work.
3> DC: June 9-11th. Our First District Convention at Queens Assembly Hall which left us leaving thinking "their is no way that they can beat this next year"
4> July 2nd: Going to Stanley with Mandey and Ray to see their Grandpa in the ASL Drama. Then going to South Street Seaport and sweating ourselves to death in the heat. It was the day I decided I would switch over to the ASL Cong, no matter what stood in my way.
5> July 8-9th: Staying at Becca's and watching North and South for the first time, my first Brooklyn Field Service experience (where every call ended with some food, but it WAS really hot outside!!!) And of course FORZA ITALIA! VIVE LA FRANCE!
6> Sept 16-17th,20th: Meeting "the British Boyfriends" for the first time. Playing Train Domino's, Steve's Public Talk, The International Pickle Festival, Lemon Grass Grill. And of course, going to lunch at Wallkill. (It seems Steve and Ad's accents got us into everything!) We ate hamburgers for lunch that was the start of a personal love affair for me. (I know this is horrible but what a great way to get iron, and even now I need to be in the mood for it, and just about any other kind of beef I can't eat but hamburgers seem to love me back, strange I agree)
7> Oct 13-15th: Em and Mike's Wedding. My first time being a Maid of Honor. And really the first time a very close friend of mine got married. Something that 2007 will be seeing a lot of! Star gazing. Freezing to death the whole weekend. Being pretty in my red dress. Dancing til my shoes came off.
8> Oct 27th-29th: Circuit Assembly in American Sign Language. Pioneer Meeting.Which was just A-M-AZING. Sitting in the front row, being able to see every facial expression. Hanging out with the girls. Watching Bleek Street. Food shopping Brooklyn Style. Getting lost in Jersey City. Locking us out of my car in Dyker Heights. Having Brother Santiago and Max come break into my car for me. Good stuff I tell ya!
9> Nov 17-19th: J'aime and Duane's CT Wedding: The non-RFT-rft. Having the most fun car ride in the silver bullet. All of us crying during the ceremony. Eating more then a four person family at the reception. Dancing. Playing games and winning one. The tee-shirts. Our first RFT sister to be married! Another thing that 2007 will see a lot of it seems!
10> Dec 23-26th: Snowboarding in VT. Freezing in the hail storm at the top of the mountain. Actually landing on my feet. Having Eric defend my honor against the insane skiers. Crazy car ride conversations. Henry Warwick invented the wheel.
