So now that that is out of the way I'd like to shout out to all the brothers and sistas out there who are keeping things going in my absence. I would like to tell you all a bunch of stories from our time here in the U.K. but I'm afraid that those will be coming up in the weeks to come. Need to space out the blog material.
Nevertheless I will start you off with a little thing I've noticed. Everything in England is cute to me. I'm sure it's annoying to be annylized and found simply "cute", but still there it is. It's a cute country and a cute people (aside from their ritualistic violence that apparently is a side effect of seasonal football matches). I think driving on the left is adorable. That the driver is on the right side of the car is cute. That the cars are - in general- compact and (wait for it) cute. That at ALL meals every born and bred English person MUST utilize the fork and knife method of getting food into small bits for every mouthful. And this is an art. I think it's way too much for me to handle when they ask me if I'd like a "chewy" instead of gum.
But far above all else is the way they describe their food, it's either rubbish, nice, of lovely. And all these statements are ended in the exact same way "Ohhh that's lovely isn't it?" " Well I say that is a nice piece of bread, isn't it?" "That curry is rubbish isn't it?" ...that latter statement is of course completely fictional as there isn't a single Anglo-Saxon who thinks ill of curry.
Incidentally that is where we're headed tonight in about 36 minutes. So on with it and I can't wait to see all of you and bring back tales from the British Isles.
