TOP TEN in no paricular order. Just writing them as they come!
1. Attending the Pioneer Special Session with Joel. Our first one together and it was awesome!!! It made me cry to realize what we were accomplishing together. Serving in the full time service with my husband is one the greatest joys and privileges I have ever experienced!
2. Being married to my best friend for 5 years! Where did the time go? It seems like only yesterday that we were flirting with each other. Oh wait we were! We went down to Kansas City for some Blues and BBQ! Any Blues fans out there you should really head down to Kansas City!
3. Girls Trip to New York!!!! Five days of quality sister time. Don't forget Little Italy! Jess, whatever happened to that waiter? Getting rain dumped on us. Unfortunately we didn't get to sell our umbrellas for $100.
4. Seeing two couples we know be sent to the Columbian branch for International Construction.
So exciting to see them go and accomplish their goals! And to hear stories when they come back. One of the brothers actually had Lasik done while they were down there cuz it's way cheaper. Man was it weird to see him with out glasses!
5. This was not a high point of 2005 but it effected me none the less. My Grandma was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in the spring and unfortunately she died from it the end of December. Her faith in Jehovah's promises really bolstered all of us during the whole ordeal. Now we just have to be sure to there to welcome her back!
6. Joel going to Pioneer School! We had 5 going from our congregation! The old timers outnumbered the new ones. I know this one wasn't my experience but I got to hear all the stories and I got to serve the school when it was our congregations turn. It was my first doing that though.
7. Unassigned in North Dakota!! First time for this too and we want to make it a yearly experience. We had soo much fun! Got to see mom and dad, chester, and they brought some tall gangily kid with them...I think his name was Smanothan or something. Yeah he was fun too. 10 people in a 7 person van! Good times!
8. Our new apartment! I finally have a bathtub. 5 years with only a shower. It's the simple things really.
9. Joel being interviewed for the Assembly on how we've been able to keep things simple. That's when he announced our #10!
10. We were accepted to learn Hmong!! If you ever want a challenge come and learn Hmong! It's been really exciting and emotional. We switched congregations, so we had to say good bye to our old hall. Very hard and sad! But now we get to be a part of a little group becoming a congregation of its own!
That my friends is Amanda (and Joel's) 2005 Top Ten!
