Ok, I know most people don't know me, but I wanted to join in the fun! Here are my top ten moments, or ten things I did this year:
- I finally was able to reach a life-long goal, and started regular pioneering in January. I can’t believe it’s been a year already!
- Went “camping” for the first time. Ok, it was in a cabin that was air-conditioned, and I slept on a bed, but it still counts! Next time I might try a tent.
- Graduated in May with an Associate’s Degree in LAN and WAN Networking. Yeah, I'm a nerd.
- Went to NY for 12 days in June. Visited Brooklyn Bethel, Wallkill, Patterson and Stanley Theater.
- While in NY, saw the Phantom of the Opera. Went to a taping of the Late Show for the second time in my lifetime. On a particularly rainy day in a rich part of town, my friend sold her $2 umbrella for $100. Ok, that last one would really be one of her highlights of the year, but it was really cool to witness.
- Hurricane Rita did not hit us in September! We did evacuate just to be extra-extra-safe, but nothing came our way. It was like a nice mini-vacation (for us at least).
- I really must say meeting our new C.O. in September was one of the highlights of the year. We had a great time talking with him and his wife, and their visit really encouraged us all.
- In November I attended my first Annual Pioneer meeting, what an experience! Looking forward to the school next year.
- In late November went on a tour bus trip to visit the Bethel branch in Mexico. Had the privilege of eating lunch and supper there. Made a lot of new friends on the bus. It was a trip to remember.
- In October started working as a secretary with the RBC, and in December spent two weekends at a theocratic building project in Brownsville. Good times.
Well, that was my year. I hope next year will be just as fun and fullfilling. With my pioneer school to look forward to and three building projects scheduled, I am sure it will be!
