Learn Something New

In a series I call Learn Something New, I will be sharing the new things I've learned. Sounds real cheesy huh? Well truth be told there are so many little things I had no clue about that I have to write about. Also I am now a fanatic advocate for learning new things...and I hope to spur you all onto learn something new also. Of course I don't think you can avoid it. We're met with new situations, new people, with new ideas every single hour of every single day. With change comes the opportunity to improve AND....to LEARN SOMETHING NEW!!!
Today's Learn Something New has to do with Blue Jeans.

I never realized there were Winter Weight jeans and Summer Weight jeans. No clue! I always thought what I know now to be Summer Weight jeans, was just denim of inferior quality. So I always got Winter Weight jeans, because with jeans I'm all about quality. That's why I'm always dying in the Summer with my hot jeans!! Now I'm all the wiser.

Ok so that was a pretty superficial "Something New". I feel oh so deep right now...
This is a more enriching "Something New": Matthew 10:29, 31 speaks of sparrows of small value that Jehovah takes notice of when they fall to the ground and how we are worth more than many sparrows. I've always taken it that the term "fall to the ground" suggested the sparrow had died. Yet that's not necessarily what it means. It means when a sparrow actually lands after its flight. Therefore think of how many times in a day, or even in an hour, a single sparrow will touch-down and perch somewhere. Then multiply that by the number of sparrows in the world.

That knowledge just makes the point even more powerful and ever more meaningful. Jehovah takes note of each occurance of a sparrows' landing, yet we are worth more than many sparrows. So his eye is forever upon us and he is actually taking notice of us so as to care for us.
