It's Not Monday. It's COURTDAY!!!

From the Desk of Courtney aka "Court" aka "Tinser" Clarke:

Top 5 Most Frequently Asked Questions Addressed Toward Courtney (and Their Answers!) -These are the questions that I have been repeatedly asked, and now...the answers that I repeatedly give in one form or another.

1. What made you decide to be a teacher?
A:
My biggest criteria for a job, was that I didn't work in an office, because it would bore me to death. I've always loved school, and the idea of never leaving that setting appeals to me. I needed a job where I could intereact with other people, and thats basically what you're doing all day long. Of course, having so much time off doesn't hurt either, and it is a flexible job which could allow for auxillory or regular pioneering with a supporting congregation.

2. What does Tinser mean?
A:
It was the nickname that my parents gave my brother. So how did it turn into my nickname? Well, when AOL first started, my family just shared one screen name, and since my brother signed it up, it was Tinser. Since then, he stopped using it, and it became primarily mine. So, i started using it for everything, and the nickname stuck for me, whereas nobody refers to my brother as Tinser anymore. Little sisters will steal everything!

3. What's with you and whales?
A: I went so Sea World for the first time when I was 3, and since then I've just always love Shamu and killer whales in general. I can't explain it, I just think they are beautiful and amazing animals. Killer Whales are my favorite, but I sitll like other whales. Because of my great love for whales, I've coined sayings like "I Brake for Whales"

4. What's with you and French?
A: It really isn't the French. Honestly, I do like France and the French, but it's not them as a race. People have come to think that I defend or love them as a race, but in general my whole "defensive" bit is to not characterize a nation as a whole. I don't want people thinking its just France, because I think basically any European country would recieve a similar response. And while I dont mind being labeled as a French lover, that is not actually the real truth behind the situation. However, I must say, the closest I ever came to dying was in France, and if it were'nt for some frenchmen, i might not be here today....so I guess I do owe them some respect just for that.

5. What is your favorite time period in history to learn about?
A:
From the time of exploration onwards. I absolutely love learning about "recent" history, because I feel it explains why the world is the way it is today. Its amazing how something that happened a relatively long time ago, basically made the world as it is now. Even more specifically, I like learning about the 20th century, because its easy to invision, and a lot of the people who lived through it are still alive. Also, so many interesting things happened in that century, as well as terrible things, and its amazing that, even though it feels like the Western World is so beyond those terrible things (ie: Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, even Japanese Internment Camps) ...it really wasn't even 100 years ago. Pretty crazy I think.
