Onto more important business. Yesterday everyone considered the Watchtower study on Youths. And I started to think of the qualities I see in the young children and teens in our hall and I could see why each one would be precious to Jehovah. They all serve him at different levels...but they're all serving him. But I was also thinking of the obedience and the restraint that so many of them have applied to their lives whether it be to keep the peace among family members, honor their parents, or so as to respectfully stand up for what they believe.

Initially I would turn back to my own childhood and think how I didn't work as hard as these children did, or didn't go out in service as much as they did, or speak up about Jehovah as much as they have. But then I thought a little deeper and some memories came back to me of a number of recesses that I spent walking around with a girl from my class explaining to her what it's like to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Reasoning with her on what the Bible says about holidays. Or the time that Angie Snow and I had a Bible study with a girl name Latoya during our recess in the 3rd grade. Or the time in Art class when my table of upper-classmen were asking me questions about how Jehovah's Witnesses viewed homosexuality and when I was able to give them two scriptures to show that we love people but hate the action, the whole table thought that was a very reasonable stand to take.

And memories of Aux. Pioneering during March April and May one year, going out in service directly after school with my brother Joel and my friend Christine, then going to the meeting directly after service and long days on the weekend and on Wednesdays till nearly 9 pm...
Well it all made me feel better about how I spent my childhood/ teenage years. All of it has made for good memories and helped me to see that I wasn't an idle miscreant afterall.

So not to make it sound like I was tooting my own horn. Just thought it'd be nice to get all of you thinking about what things you did as a child to stand up for the truth, or the kind things you did within your family, etc and have you share them here.

Happy Hot Monday everyone! It's time to WAKE UP! (What a nice weekend too! Can't go wrong with the Portuguese and a BBQ!)
