In groups of friends everyone has their thing, their niche to fill and their role to play. The roles I feel I play are mostly real-life rip-offs of someone else's character...I think the women of Little Women could represent most facets of my own personality. (ha! yes gonna take it down that girly road)
Jo-the animated and outspoken side
Meg-the mild and conservative side
Beth- the quiet and artistic side
Amy- the conceited and immature side
Marmee- the inner strength and sensibleness
Aunt March- the bossy old woman
We all contain a mix of roles, and change our acts frequently with each shift of situation. Mostly I play the quiet girl until I'm comfortable. And that's when the enthusiasm bears it's crazy head.
I think it's important to be versatile in your personality. To be acquainted with differing types of people and engage them in all kinds of settings and activities. We're always encouraged to widen out in our affections and if that may entail 'becoming all things to people of all sorts' then what harm have we done? None. Even Jehovah becomes what he has to become so as to fulfill a purpose. We're not speaking of drastic personality alterations, only simple transitions. Just as a car shifting gears doesn't change the overall dynamic of the car. Hmm do I need to rethink that analogy?
It's Monday morning. Go get yourself a little coffee, or tea if that's your "thing" and it's back to WORK we go! Hope it storms today!!! I love those thunder/lightning storms! Apparently I also love exclamation marks!!!
Phrases I hope I never EVER utter:
"I sure miss my teeth!"
"Honey, is my belly stickin' out of my shirt again?"
