An Urgent Cry For Help

A few months back I called on a Muslim woman named Roxanne, who had two children and a husband. She told me she was very depressed because her husband was out of work and a close friend had just died at the age of 45. I shared scriptures with her to comfort her, showed her that prayer to God is essential when we're enduring trials in our lives. I came back several times and shared magazines and scriptures to encourage her, showing her that we need to dwell on positive aspects and on good news such is contained in the Bible.

A week ago I came back and she and her husband were all smiles! She invited me and Nola in for the first time and had us sit down while she told me that her husband got a job and they found a house as well! Roxanne told me that the day after I last saw her they got the news of the job and then also of the house! I congratulated her and her husband, to which they thanked me because my "feet are lucky in their house". :)

I explained that I really had nothing to do with it, but it was because they worked in harmony with their prayers and applied the things they read in the magazines that this was the outcome. Roxanne told me she had been praying and then reading the magazines and said while clutching her hands over her heart "they are truth".Then she explained that she read them and would tell her husband that he needs to follow what they say. And he listened!

Not wanting to leave it at just that, I remarked that when good things happen to us, we are grateful to God. But the best way to show our gratitude is by doing something for him. And what does he require of us? That we learn about him and apply the things we learn to our lives.
So I offered a Bible study in the Require Brochure to which she accepted.
