The Glory of Changing

This Draw Close to Jehovah book has proved to be one of the most enlightening pieces of material I've come across in my life in the truth. I don't think I've ever had a deeper sense of Jehovah's personality than I have come to have in recent months.

Most of you may have already had your bookstudy this week so for you, please add your comments. As for the rest who have weekend bookstudies, here's a point you can use at your own study.

In speaking about how complete Jehovah's forgiveness is the Draw Close book noted that Jehovah will not bring our sins up again and again in order to accuse or punish us over and over. The key to gaining this kind of forgiveness lies within our actions. Our readiness to repent and turn around. This we could liken to a caterpillar.

We understand that caterpillars, while there are mixed emotions about them, are overall destructive creatures. Put one in a garden and all your hard work comes undone because they will devour all healthy growth. However does a caterpillar stay a caterpillar? No. Eventually it becomes a butterfly. But only after it has undergone drastic changes. And how many times do we look at a butterfly and say ,"That was once a destructive slimy caterpillar!" Never! Because the changes that it has made has created a new beautiful creation. And we delight in the new creation.

That is how Jehovah forgives us. When we repent and change, it's as if we're not even the same person to Jehovah but we are his new and splendid servant.

As a side point, butterflies are actually beneficial, not to mention an ornament, to a garden. Talk amongst yourselves!
