This is a poem I wrote when I was about 18 and recently I received a notice that it has won the Poetry.Com Editor's Choice Award- For Outstanding Achievement in Poetry. For those of you who are poetically inclined, submit your poems to Poetry.com and see what may come of it!

It's the Fault of Pride

That shuts my mouth

The sin of Pride

That puts to wonder

And the fear of suspicion

That it keeps fighting

So you won't know too soon

But Pride is a cover

To hide our flaws

To veil the weak

And conceal our scars

Though Pride discovers

No blanket's enough

To disguise love

From you
