BALDERDASH!!!

An old family favorite was dug up and played last night...what we, in the Labrucherie household used to simply call Dictionary. For those of you who haven't played with us (yet), the game is to pick a word in the dictionary that no one in the room is familiar with and everyone writes down their fake definitions while the "picker" writes down the actual definition. Then all definitions are read aloud and voted on. It sounds boring stating it that way but let's go to some examples from last night:

Isanthous:

Tyson's Definition- "A word used in the Bronx for "It's in the house" It is a modern word in the ever evolving language of Ebonics"

-for which Chuck AND TYSON voted as the real definition.

Ephthianura-

Becca's Definition (and actual definition)- "A genus of small Australian Warblers characterized by diminuitive tails i.e.' Harold! I think we done got us a nest of ephthianura in da walls!'"

-for which Chuck and Jess voted...HOORAY!!

My Definition to Ephthianura- "A word that is hard to say and, yes folks, hard to spell"

-for which no one voted (surprisingly!)

Flatus-

Chuck's Definition (and again the real definition, sort of)- "A gas generated in the stomach or other cavities of the body; flatulence. i.e. 'I just made Flatus!'" Can you guess what part was NOT in the dictionary?
