Thursday, Thursday

You know that song by the Mama's and the Papa's- California Dreaming? That's today's anthem, even though it's not a winters day...just gloomy out side. It's funny cuz my sister, Jess, had a teacher in grade school named Mr. Speez and they made up a song about him written to the melody of this song. I'll try to remember the words:

All his suits are brown
And his hair is grey
He went for a drive
In his Chevrolet
We'd be safe and warm
If He was in L.A.

Gary Speez is dreaming.....

I don't remember if there was any other verses to it but once she taught me these words to the song, I've been singing "Gary Speez is Dreaming" ever since! Obviously he wasn't the most liked teacher. He was the one that had pulled my sister to the front of the class and made her an example of Anti-Americanism because she wouldn't salute the flag. The reason he was so mad about it was because he had just come back from the first Gulf War and was very much into patriotism. Needless to say my dad had words with him. Later Mr. Speez was fired as a teacher for reasons I can only guess at.

But we've all had experiences like this. We can laugh at it later in life. Besides it didn't permanently scar Jess...her twitching has subsided significantly.
