Anyway I was going through some of the pictures with some girls in my hall and I was telling them whatever story I remembered for the respective photos. In all of the pictures I kept cringing at my haircut, it kinda looked like a mullet at times, but mostly it was all tangled and unbrushed. And because I was thin all my life, I had these gangly legs that looked abnormally long. I always had a gap in my teeth but with the oversized front teeth that never came in in sync, I looked like a royal "bo-hunk". Ahhhh the awkward stages of my life....Apparently it wasn't just a stage, it WAS my life.
So here's one from the archives. I'm the taller little girl in the cowboy hat and dress-up clothes. Can you guess who the other little girl is next to me in their cowboy hat and dress? No that's not my sister. Au contraire!! It's my brother! It's Bubba!!
I remember this day quite vividly actually. He was 3 or 4 years old and I was 6 or 7 years old and I was tired of playing with those little cars with him, so I grabbed him and dragged him into my room where I put on the ugliest (but what I thought was the prettiest) dress and found my cowboy hat and stuck a veil on it...little did I realize no respectable bride would wear a cowboy hat and blue dress to her wedding. So being that Bubba was so much smaller than me, the only dress-up clothes I could give him was my old dress. Oh he put up a fight but I was STRONGER!!! I grabbed him by the arm and told him it would be fun to dress up, and then we could go out into the living room and sing a song for mom and dad. So after a long struggle (with me not with the dress) Bubba came out to the living room with me, where my parents proceeded to politely stifle their giggles long enought to allow their youngest son "perform" in drag. As far as the song, I made it up and I expected Bubba to know it !!! Sheesh! Stupid boy-girl!!! That explains the confused look on his face in the picture.
In conclusion: it hasn't scarred him at all.
