Ahhh To Be A Kid...

It's great being a kid. In the summer months we get a lot of opportunity to re-live what it was like to be a kid as the children in our hall join us out in service. They make it so fun and help us to remember that it's not always about HARD-CORE service...they need snacks, they need breaks, they need to play, they need to tell jokes. As Demi(8 years old) told me when I asked him why he was upset yesterday, he said,
"Is it so much to believe that a kid doesn't like service? And you know what, sometimes, I don't like meetings!"
I laughed on the inside and asked him why... his reply was that then his day seemed so short and he didn't have enough time to play. I was thinking "Yeah that never changes" but instead I asked him,

"Demi, are you gonna live forever?"
"Yes"
"Then don't worry, cuz Jehovah is gonna give you all the time in the world to play. In the meantime, until the New System comes, what do we do?"
"Preach"

And then Demi proceeded to tell me how he told his sister just before they went to sleep how one day, one Witness will knock on a door and that will be the very last door to get a witness, cuz the end of this system will have come. I had to tell him that he was a good boy. He tries hard. And dang-it! he was way too cute!!!!

So, anyway, I had the little ones tell me jokes this week in service. Mostly cuz I wanted to be entertained but also because I love kid jokes. Especially when they mix it up or when they make absolutely NO SENSE whatsoever!!! But also, kid jokes are great cuz the dirtiest they get is possibly inserting the words "poopy" or "pee-pee" in the joke.

My favorite kid joke of the week:

Why did the Chicken cross the road? (I dunno) To get to the other side to get the Chinese newspaper. Do you get it? (NO) Me neither.
-Amanda Lynch, 6 years old

Spread the wealth, give me your favorite kid joke.
